Europe at night is a beautiful and often mysterious place, full of atmosphere, history, and stories both told and untold. In this photo artwork of the Italian countryside in the middle of a summer night, I tried to give a sense of passing through the landscape - literally, but also figuratively too. People come and go across Europe, sometimes making marks that remain for centuries, but sometimes too making it more beguiling, and more beautiful.

The print's dramatic interplay of light and dark brings a surreal tranquillity to the scene that brings out the beauty of the Italian landscape. To achieve this I've used a mixture of very old and very new photographic techniques, further blending the past with the present and the future - a nod to Italy's timeless allure.
